Brad Keselowski had a very convincing win in the Camping World RV Sales 301 Sprint Race at New Hampshire this week. It seemed that he would hardly let anyone else get in to the lead during the race.
The race had a very dramatic start though when Jimmie Johnson, who was on the front row noticed that he had a tyre deflating and so he had to make an almost immediate pit stop he then rejoined in 42nd place and three laps later had a tyre failure which caused him to hit the wall and exit the race. He explained afterwards that he was aware of the flat and so came in to the pits but did not know what caused the other problem. He said that everything went well in practice and it could have been that both tyres suffered from the same problem, but there was no way of knowing.
Kyle Busch was in pole and led for a while but as soon as there was a green flag on lap 21 Joey Logano and Kyle Busch pursued him but in the end Denny Hamlin managed to take second place but once lap 74 came along Keselowski started making his attack on front place. By lap 90 he was in the lead. After a caution he managed to push back through again, not being the first to leave the pot lane. A few other cautions caused various place changed and Logano got taken out of second place by Morgan Shepherd who was the slowest car on the track and being lapped and caused Logao to spin in to the wall much to his annoyance.
After a pit stop for four tyres, Keselowski was soon to take over the lead in the race again but he was cautious to save fuel although after yet another caution he took on some more and two new tyres. This meant that he could speed ahead without worrying about fuel conservation and was soon ip in front too far for anyone to catch. He therefore won the race with Kyle Busch in second place and Larson, Kenseth, Newman and Bowyer following him.
