Saturday saw a third win of the year for Kevin Harvick. He has a huge lead with regards to number of laps in this race with many other drivers finding their cars were not behaving as well as they had liked.
Harvick led in 159 laps out of a total of 195 which was massively impressive and got his third win at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the Nationwide series as well as his third win this tear.
It was Chase Elliott that started off as the leader for the first 36 laps but his cars handling was not easy for him and Harvick overtook him on Lap37 and then dominated the race. This track is obviously a good one for Harvick though as it is the fourth time on it that he has had a big lead with regards to the number of laps that he led in.
It was Joey Logano that proved the most difficult for Harvick as he had a stronger cat but seemed to not manage to challenge for the lead. With 17 laps to go both drivers pitted and Logan was able to close the gap but could not do enough to catch him or overtake. Afterwards Logano said that Harvick was better than him for ¾ race in all aspects.
In the end only nine cars finished in the lead lap with Kyle Larson Kyle Busch. Chase Elliott, Regan Smith, Brian Scott, David Ragan, Ty Dillon and Elliott Sadler making up that group. Elliott was hoping for a better finish on his home track and he was in second or third position for a lot f the race but only managed to finish fifth, which he felt was due to a mistake that he made, overshooting his stall at a pit stop. He said that he should have come second and he did a disservice to his team by making a mistake which cost them those places.
