The Sprint Cup is exciting this week with drivers fighting it out to make sure that they do not get eliminated from the Chase, as this is the final part of the first stage.
Qualifying has already gone ahead and Kevin Harvick has got pole position which is the seventh time that he has achieved this at Dover International Speedway. Next to him is Kyle Busch and then Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowki, Jamie McMurry, Jeff Gordon, Kyle Larson, Jimmie Johnson, Clint Bowyer and Austin Dillon. It should be an exciting race though as many drivers face the possibility of elimination with just previous race winners Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano. Some drivers are safer than others, depending on how many points they have accumulated over the last two races, but really most of them just need to go for a win to be absolutely sure of being one of the twelve drivers that will progress through to the next level.
The Nationwide Series also ran in Dover and it saw Kyle Busch as a convincing leader for the fifth time this season, leading for half of the race. Joey Logano took second place and Chase Elliott, Chris Buescher and Elliott Sadler followed him. Elliott was in the points lead and held on to it with just five races left in the season.
The Camping World Truck series race has already taken place at Las Vegas. It was won by Erik Jones and was his second victory of the year where he managed to hold off Darrell Wallace Jr, his teammate leading for the final 15 laps after overtaking him. Following them were Matt Crafton who is the points leader at the moment and then Timothy Peters, Brian Ickler, Ryan Blaney, Ben Kennedy, Jeb Burton, Tayler Malsem and Joey Coulter. .
