How it was in February 21, 2009:
With a No. 51 Toyota truck that absolutely dominated the competition Saturday at Auto Club Speedway, polesitter Kyle Busch streaked to a 9.023-second victory over Todd Bodine, last week’s winner at Daytona, in the San Bernardino County 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.
“Last lap passes, I don’t need no stinkin’ last lap passes!” (Recalling Daytona’s failed effort) “I’ll just take the damn lead and never give it up.” – Kyle Busch (may have been thinking).
Right about now Colin Braun is spittin’ fire as he ran out of fuel with three laps to go (giving Busch the lead) that may have been a result of NASCAR’s new pitstop rules that the Half-Vast Staff™ of Full Throttle has dubbed – a Crapsicle!
“This thing was just flawless,” Busch said of his #51 Toyota.
Well flawless except for those pesky 5 laps that got away from him. He’ll have to work on that.
Not to be overlooked, ARCA RE/MAX star Gabi Dicarlo finished 19th in her truck series debut.
More later, meaning more of the same.
As this is written Busch has led 102 of 105 laps completed.
UPDATE: “Last lap passes, I don’t need no stinkin’ last lap passes!” (Recalling Daytona’s failed effort) “I’ll just take the damn lead and never give it up.” – The Sequel.
Kyle Busch’s day has gone all to hell hasn’t it. How else do you explain going from leading 95 of 100 laps to only leading 143 of 150?
Flipper and Kesleowski didn’t get with the the Domination Theory did they? A pox on both their houses for stealing those 7 laps from Busch!
