Colonel John “Hannibal” Smith, the fictional character in the 1980s action/adventure TV series The A-Team, was famous for using the tagline; “I love it when a plan comes together.”
Sometimes blog posts drop out of the sky, or the stars align themselves is a certain way and I get to paraphrase Hannibal Smith and say: I love it when a theme comes together.
In this case the theme is “getting the boot” as it relates to Kevin Harvick Incorporated (KHI).
A few days ago Kevin Harvick said two pit crew members for his Truck Series team were released after failed tests as a result of Harvick’s in company substance abuse policy.
They got, wait for it… “the boot.”
Today NASCAR announced penalties and fines to the KHI #33 as a result of rule infractions found last Friday at DIS. Driver Ron Hornaday Jr. lost 25 NCWTS championship driver points and owner DeLana Harvick lost 25 championship owner points in addition to Crew chief Rick Ren being fined $5,000 and placed on probation until June 30, 2009.
They all “got the boot,” so to speak.
Here’s the kicker. (pun intentionally intended – claims FT’s Dept of Redundancy Dept.)
Georgia Boot, America’s Hardest Working Boot is once again partnering with and serving as the official boot sponsor of Kevin Harvick Inc. for 2009. Georgia Boot were sponsor of the KHI #2 Silverado entry in NCWTS last year.
In 2009, Georgia Boot will move over as an associate sponsor of KHI’s #33 Chevrolet Silverado driven by three-time NCWTS champion Ron Hornaday.
So once again, KHI “gets the boot.”
It was a long way to go for not much wasn’t it Dear Readers?
But I love it when a theme comes together.
If you happen to feel differently you can bequeath me A Boot to the Head.
(PLEASE, someone make this guy STOP! – the peanut gallery.)
