As NASCAR drivers head to Kansas Speedway for the 11th annual Hollywood Casino 400, here are five fun facts and records that could have an impact on the race results.
Best average finish and most wins
Jeff Gordon is the active driver with the best average finish at 8.1. Gordon is tied with Tony Stewart and Greg Biffle for the most wins, with two. A win for #24 would be huge and something he needs as the Chase for the Sprint Cup comes down to the wire.
Gordon’s last win at Kansas Speedway was September 29, 2002. He is definitely due for a victory at the 1.5 mile tri-oval track.
Most top-fives and most top-tens
Jeff Gordon also holds the record for the most top-fives and top-tens at the track. He has eight top-five finishes and nine top-ten finishes.
Gordon is a fan of the Kansas Speedway track saying, “This has been a great track for us and I can’t wait for this weekend’s race.” while at Phoenix International Raceway testing.
Fastest Qualifying Speed
Matt Kenseth holds the record for the fastest qualifying speed of 180.856 set back in 2004. Kenseth is another driver favored to win the Hollywood Casino 400 this weekend. Another he has never won a race at the track, he does have two top five and five top-ten finishes.
