Mid Season NASCAR Sprint Series Review

This weekend marks a rest for the Sprint Cup NASCAR drivers and so it is the perfect time to reflect on the season so far and see how well all of the teams have been doing so far.

Team Penske has been one of the top performing teams. They have drivers Brad Keselowsku and Joey Logano and between the two of them have managed five victories. Hendrick Motorsports are also a big contender. They have four drivers with Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr and Jimmie Johnson having won six races between them and Kasey Kahne not yet having managed to win a race. Joe Gibbs Racing has three drivers Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth and all drivers have won a race and so have all qualified for the Chase, Stewart-Haas Racing has two drivers that have won races in Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch but two drivers that have not yet done that well in Tony Stewart and Danica Patrick. Richard Petty Motorsports has seen a victory from Aric Almirola and they may find that Marcos Ambrose has a good chance of also winning a race at Watkins Glen. Richard Childress Racing has not been that speedy but it looks like Ryan Newman could have a chance of reaching the Chase as well as Paul Maynard. Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates racing have been fast but have not always had good results although Jamie McMurray won the Sprint All-Star Race and Kyle Larson is showing promise as a rookie this year. JTG Daugherty Racing has seen AJ Allmendinger with three top ten finished which is a big improvement but not yet any wins. Michael Waltrip Racing have not been as good as expected as Clint Bowyer and Brian Vickers both performed better last year. Germain Racing have seen an improvement for driver Casey Mears this year but no victories yet. Tommy Baldwin Racing is a low budget team and has seen their rookie driver Michael Annett finish in the top half four times recently which should be pleasing for them.Hscott Motorsports is also a low budget team and Justin Allgaier has seen some good performances. Rousch Fenway Racing has seen two wins from Carl Edwards but they often do not perform well especially with a lot more expected of Greg Biffle and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Furnuture Row Racing was much better last year being the only team with one car to make the Chase but Martic Truex Jr has not had a top five finish this year.
