Kevin Harvick has already done extremely well as the Sprint Cup series this season either coming first or being a runner up in every race so far. However, it seems that he is keen not just to dominate in one of the series this year having earned his second win in the Xfinity Series on Saturday as well. The Auto Club Speedway race saw Harvick dominating as he led 100 of the 150 laps of the course. This is his second Xfinity win of the season having won at Atlanta as well and finishing third in the other Xfinity race that he took place in. Harvick was one of twelve Sprint Cup drivers who took part in the race and he was the only one that finished in the top seven. Most of them took part in order to get themselves familiar with the new rules that will apply to this track so they are more prepared for Sunday’s race. Brendan Gaughan came second in the race which is his best ever result. He explained afterwards that he was hoping for a chance to take the lead after several restarts but was never able to capitalise.
It is likely that Harvick could do well in Sunday’s race as well having come second in qualifying so he will be starting at the front with Kurt Busch. Behind will be Matt Kenseth, David Ragan, Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin. Jeff Gordon. Brad Keselowski. Ryan Newman and Clint Bowyer. Any of these could be a threat and there is always a possibility of drivers working their way up to the front form further back. However, any sensible person would have their money on Harvick winning again.
